According to the Authority, the company provided misleading information about the place of production of DR and EVO brand vehicles

The Italian Competition Authority has opened an investigation against DR Automobiles Srl for possible unlawful conduct in the promotion and sale of DR and EVO branded vehicles, in violation of the provisions of the Consumer Code.

In particular, the company appears to be misrepresenting the place of production of DR and EVO brand vehicles on its website, in online advertising campaigns and through mass media. In addition, in some cases the relevant information on the origin of the vehicles appears to be omitted, giving the impression they are entirely produced in Italy, when in fact they are vehicles produced in China.

Today, officials of the Authority, assisted by the Special Antitrust Unit of the Italian Financial Police (Guardia di Finanza), inspected the headquarters of DR Automobiles Srl.



Italian Competition Authority Investigates DR Automobiles for Misleading Production Claims

The Italian Competition Authority has launched an investigation against DR Automobiles Srl, focusing on potential violations of the Consumer Code related to the promotion and sale of DR and EVO branded vehicles.

 According to the Authority, DR Automobiles has been accused of misrepresenting the place of production for its vehicles on its website, in online advertisements, and through mass media channels. The misleading information suggests that the vehicles are entirely produced in Italy, while they are actually manufactured in China.

 In response to these allegations, officials from the Authority, supported by the Special Antitrust Unit of the Italian Financial Police, conducted inspections at the headquarters of DR Automobiles Srl to gather further evidence.
