The Belgian Competition Authority has given the green light to Waterland Private Equity Investment's acquisition of Mapa Consulting. The approval was granted on 24 October 2024 after the concentration was notified on 15 October 2024, with a request for the simplified procedure.

Waterland Private Equity Investment, an independent private equity firm known for its 'buy-and-build' growth strategy, operates in various sectors across 11 European countries, including Belgium. On the other hand, Mapa Consulting serves as a holding company for Umami Group, which specializes in providing contract catering services to different sectors.

The Umami Group's business strategy and growth potential align well with Waterland's investment policy, making it a suitable addition to Waterland's portfolio. The BCA found that the conditions for the simplified procedure were met and that there were no objections to the acquisition.
