The CNMC is seeking public input on calculating a reasonable profit for railway service facilities owned by Adif, Renfe, and other companies, essential for freight and passenger transport. Prices for these services must not exceed the cost plus a reasonable profit, as per regulations.
Additionally, the CNMC is holding a public consultation on determining the Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) to monitor prices that railway companies pay for accessing these facilities and services. The criteria for supervising prices are clarified in a Communication, aligning the concept of reasonable profit with WACC and outlining a methodology for its calculation.
The public consultation, open until November 4th, includes detailed values for each variable in the WACC formula, as outlined in the Communication.
