16.09.2024 | 🇵🇱 Polish competition authority

The second edition of the UOKiK Student Summer Camp has kicked off, offering students a chance to delve into competition law through workshops, case studies, and special guest meetings.

The UOKiK Student Summer Camp '24 is a 5-day program where students explore the workings of competition law through workshops, case studies, and interactions with experts. Participants have the opportunity to secure paid internships or longer-term collaborations.

The workshops aim to provide students who have completed at least their second year of law, economics, or related studies in Poland with a practical insight into UOKiK's mission and operations. The schedule includes workshop sessions, in-depth analysis of topics, and encourages interaction and dialogue among participants.

The sessions during the week of September 16-20, 2024, focus on promoting competition development, consumer welfare, and market openness while respecting dialogue with market participants.

The program includes workshops, interactive sessions, and meetings for knowledge exchange led by UOKiK experts and external guests. Topics cover various aspects of competition law, from economic considerations to unfair practices, restrictive agreements, and abuse of dominance. Participants will also learn about investigative methods used by UOKiK staff, including forensic IT, mystery shopping, and open-source intelligence.

After completion, participants receive a certificate, with top performers having the chance to secure paid internships at the UOKiK headquarters or one of its eight branches.
