UOKiK Summer Camp: Opportunity for Students to Explore Competition Law

04.06.2024 | 🇵🇱 Polish competition authority

UOKiK is inviting students to apply for the second edition of Summer Camp, offering free workshops on competition law in Warsaw.

UOKiK is organizing the second edition of Summer Camp, a five-day workshop where students can engage with experts from the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) and special guests. Participants will discuss interesting antitrust case studies, learn about the work of analysts and case handlers, and exchange views.

The workshops will take place from September 16 to 20 in Warsaw, with 25 students from at least the second year of law, economics, or related fields. Accommodation and meals will be provided. To apply, students need to submit a 90-second self-presentation video and a 2-4 page essay on the topic 'Why and how to protect competition in the modern economy?'

The best participants will receive valuable knowledge on concentration control, unfair practices, abuse of dominant position, white-collar crime, forensic IT, and mystery shopping. They may also receive job offers at UOKiK after the camp, starting with paid internships and potential long-term positions.

Additionally, after the September workshops, there will be a competition for the best master's and doctoral theses on competition and consumer protection, with prizes of up to 10,000 PLN. Winners may have their work published by UOKiK and have the opportunity for paid internships at the Office.
