UOKiK Concludes Investigation into Hospital IT System Suppliers

18.12.2024 | 🇵🇱 Polish competition authority

The President of UOKiK has closed an investigation into the supply of IT systems for hospitals, finding no antitrust violations by the companies involved.

The President of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) has officially concluded an investigation concerning the supply and implementation of hospital IT systems. After a thorough analysis of the evidence collected, UOKiK found no confirmation of collusion or other practices that would restrict competition among the investigated companies.

The investigation focused on the actions of Asseco Poland, Comarch Healthcare, and Bestprojects. In December 2021, searches were conducted at the offices of these firms to determine whether any illegal agreements limiting competition had been made in the tender processes for supplying IT systems to healthcare facilities.

President Tomasz Chróstny stated that the analysis of the gathered evidence did not indicate any violations of the competition protection law by the companies under investigation. He emphasized that UOKiK will continue to monitor the market for hospital IT systems and respond to any irregularities that may arise.

Additionally, UOKiK has a program in place for collecting information from anonymous whistleblowers. Individuals wishing to report anti-competitive practices can do so through a dedicated platform, ensuring complete anonymity.
