The UOKiK has launched a project aimed at providing institutional support to the antitrust bodies of Moldova and Ukraine in developing their competition protection systems. The project, funded in part by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs' 'Polish Aid' program, builds on previous efforts to assist the Moldovan Competition Council and the Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee.

The collaboration focuses on sharing practical knowledge in competition protection and introducing best practices from Poland and the EU. It also aims to enhance the expertise of Ukrainian and Moldovan experts in creating legislation to support the development of their national competition systems in line with EU legal standards.

The project kicked off with beneficiaries visiting UOKiK's branches in Poznań and Łódź for job shadowing sessions, allowing them to observe the work of UOKiK experts closely. Discussions during these visits covered market research, binding decisions, and inspections.

Further activities included workshops in Warsaw on unfair trading practices in the agri-food market and selected antitrust issues. Experts from UOKiK, Ukraine, and Moldova were joined by practitioners from competition authorities in Austria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, and Hungary, all signatories of a regional competition protection agreement initiated by UOKiK's President in 2023.

Upcoming events within the project include a three-day training session in Moldova in early October, focusing on the practical application of competition law.
