The Hungarian Competition Authority is preparing to host the 50th European Competition Day in Budapest on October 22, focusing on the relationship between competition policy, competitiveness, and sustainability, as well as discussing the application of competition law in digital markets and the opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence.

The event will address key topics such as the impact of fair competition on economic growth and national competitiveness, the role of competition policy in achieving sustainability goals through initiatives like 'green cleansing,' and the implications of the Digital Markets Act in regulating multinational tech platforms.

Furthermore, experts will analyze the effects of the AI Act on the application of artificial intelligence, including concerns about market concentration, consumer decision-making, and the need for transparency in AI operations.

The Hungarian Competition Authority will also introduce the latest volume of the Competition Mirror book series, focusing on the impact of EU competition law on Hungary over the past two decades and the development of Hungarian competition law in the EU context.

The Competition Mirror book series aims to publish studies by Hungarian authors, with previous volumes covering topics such as public procurement, competition law, and consumer protection, all available digitally on the national competition authority's website.
