The CNMC greenlights four concentration operations in May, with two approved in the first phase and two with commitments, one in the first phase and the other in the second phase.

The CNMC approved four concentration operations in May, with three in the first phase and one in the second phase with commitments. One of the approved operations involved Enilive gaining exclusive control of three companies within the Atenoil Group, while another operation saw Circet acquiring exclusive control of a business unit from Comfica.

Enilive, a company under Eni, focuses on high-tech lubricants and fuels, while the Atenoil Group in Spain operates in the multi-brand service station sector, providing energy supply and additional services like retail marketing and catering.

Circet Iberia, ultimately controlled by Intermediate Capital Group PLC, specializes in engineering, construction, and maintenance of electrical and telecommunications networks, with a recent acquisition of a business unit from Comfica dedicated to fixed telecommunications networks.

Additionally, Cepsa's acquisition of exclusive control of Ballenoil and Smurfit Bulgaria's acquisition of Artemis BIB's business were approved with commitments in the second phase, ensuring no significant threats to effective competition in the markets.
