The  Belgian  Competition  Authority  approves  the  acquisition  of V.D.S.-FOOD  and  VDS  FOOD  BXL by 
Bidfood Belgium. 
 
On 29 August 2024, the Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) approved the acquisition of V.D.S.-FOOD and VDS 
FOOD BXL by Bidfood Belgium. 
 
The concentration was notified on 7 August 2024 and the application of the simplified procedure was requested. 
 
V.D.S.-FOOD and VDS FOOD BXL are both active in the food service sector. They focus on the wholesale of food 
and food related non-food products to restaurants, snack bars and, to a limited extent, large kitchens throughout 
Belgium. 
 
Bidfood Belgium is part of Bidcorp, an international group of companies active in the food service sector in various 
countries. Bidfood Belgium focuses on and serves the Belgian market and focuses on the wholesale of food and 
food-related non-food products to customers who process the consumer goods.  
 
In  its  decision  of 29  August 2024,  the  BCA establishes that  the  conditions  for  the  application  of  the  simplified 
procedure are met and that the notified concentration does not give rise to opposition.

Belgian Competition Authority Greenlights Bidfood Belgium's Acquisition of V.D.S.-FOOD and VDS FOOD BXL

The Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) has given the green light to Bidfood Belgium's acquisition of V.D.S.-FOOD and VDS FOOD BXL in the food service sector. The concentration was notified on 7 August 2024, with the application of a simplified procedure.

V.D.S.-FOOD and VDS FOOD BXL operate in the wholesale of food and related products to restaurants, snack bars, and large kitchens in Belgium. Bidfood Belgium, part of Bidcorp, focuses on the wholesale of food and non-food products to customers processing consumer goods in the Belgian market.

The BCA's decision on 29 August 2024 confirmed that the conditions for the simplified procedure were met, and there were no objections to the notified concentration.
