11.12.2024 | 🇵🇱 Polish competition authority
Experts from the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection (UOKiK) recently visited the headquarters of the Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK) in Nairobi as part of the Polish Aid program. This visit marks the second collaboration under this initiative, following a visit from a Kenyan delegation to UOKiK in September.
The five-day workshop held in Nairobi focused on various topics including artificial intelligence, dark patterns, dangerous products, consumer education, and communication strategies. This initiative aims to strengthen the consumer protection system in Kenya through institutional support.
Taking place from November 25 to 29, 2024, the visit aimed to familiarize Kenyan officials with the functioning of Poland's consumer protection system. UOKiK presented topics related to market supervision, product safety, and communication efforts to promote knowledge about both Polish and EU consumer protection systems.
Both parties found the exchange of experiences valuable, and there is hope that the knowledge gained will be implemented in the daily operations of the Kenyan authority.
