The Hellenic Competition Commission has given the green light for the acquisition of P.I. ENT S.DI.VEL.OP.MENT S.A. by TERNA S.A. in the construction sector. The decision was made under Article 6 of Law 3959/2011.

The acquisition involves the relevant markets of large public and private construction projects where both companies operate. The Commission assessed any horizontal impacts of the transaction and concluded that the increase in market share resulting from the merger is minimal. Most competitors consulted believe there are no barriers to entry in the construction sector, and the overall effects of the acquisition are expected to be negligible.

Based on the above, the Commission unanimously approved the notified concentration under Article 8(3) of Law 3959/2011. Despite falling under the scope of Article 6(1) of the same law, the acquisition does not raise serious doubts regarding its compatibility with competition requirements in the relevant markets.
