On February 27, 2024, the Board of Directors of the Competition Authority, in the exercise of the powers conferred upon it by paragraph d) of paragraph 1 of article 19 of the Statutes, approved by Decree-Law no. 125/2014, of 18 August, decides to adopt a decision of non-opposition to the concentration operation, under the terms of paragraph b) of number 1 of article 50 of the Competition Law, since it is not susceptible to create significant impediments to effective competition in the national market or in a substantial part of it.

AdC Approves GVK Omega / Greenvolt Merger

The AdC, exercising its powers under the Competition Law, approved the merger between GVK Omega and Greenvolt, determining that the transaction does not raise substantial competition issues in Portugal. The decision was made in accordance with the statutory provisions, specifically Article 50(1)(b) of the Competition Law. The non-opposition decision signifies that the merger is not expected to result in a significant lessening of competition in the relevant market, as assessed by the Competition Authority. This decision allows the merging parties to proceed with the transaction without facing regulatory obstacles from the AdC.

AdC Approves GVK Omega / Greenvolt Merger

The Portuguese Competition Authority (AdC) has issued a non-opposition decision to the merger between GVK Omega and Greenvolt, stating that it does not pose significant competition concerns in the national market.
