21.11.2024 | 🇳🇱 Dutch competition authority
Since November 19, 2024, the ACM is enforcing compliance with the European Data Governance Act (DGA), requiring data intermediation service providers to register with ACM and apply for an 'EU label' of trust. The DGA aims to increase data availability for general use, fostering innovation and societal growth.
Data intermediation service providers, including platforms and PIMS providers, must register, while data-altruistic organizations, like non-profits in healthcare and science, can voluntarily register to share data in the public interest. Both types of organizations can apply for an EU trust mark to enhance credibility.
Market participants who pre-notified ACM before the Dutch implementing act of the DGA came into force can now officially apply for registration and EU trust marks. The process can be completed on the ACM's website, providing a boost in confidence for data intermediation service providers and data-altruistic organizations.
