A seminar on combating bid rigging cartels in public procurement is being held in Budapest by the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) and the OECD. The event focuses on tools for effective enforcement and mutual cooperation with competition authorities.
Participants from 16 countries, mainly from Eastern and Southeastern Europe, and Central Asia, are attending the seminar to delve into the operation of bid rigging cartels, efficient investigation elements, and key tools for competition authorities to combat these harmful anticompetitive agreements. The training also covers effective forms of cooperation with procurement agencies and authorities.
The GVH and OECD jointly operate the Regional Training Center for Competition (ROK) to support competition authorities in Eastern, Southeastern, and Central European countries through competition law training and other professional programs. The ROK organizes various seminars on competition-related topics to enhance participants' knowledge of competition policy and practices.
The ROK's upcoming training on effective antitrust investigations is scheduled for September 24-26, 2024, in Montenegro. More information about the activities of the training center can be found on the websites of the Hungarian Competition Authority and the Regional Training Center for Competition.
