In April, there were 504,711 mobile number changes, a 16.5% rise from the previous year, affecting key telecom companies. The Mobile Virtual Network Operators (OMV) had a positive net portability balance, while major players like Vodafone, Orange, Movistar, and Grupo MASMOVIL experienced negative balances.
The total number of mobile phone lines reached 59.53 million, showing a 2.7% increase from the previous year. Movistar, Vodafone, and Orange collectively held 69.9% of the market share for mobile lines in April 2024.
Out of the total mobile lines, 51.44 million had internet connections, marking a 1.3% growth from the previous year. Additionally, there were 17.49 million fixed broadband lines in April, with 87% being fiber optic lines. The total FTTH lines reached 15.3 million, with Movistar holding 35.7% of the market share.
In the fixed broadband sector, Movistar, Orange, and Grupo MASMOVIL accounted for 74.9% of the total lines. Despite a loss of 12,137 fixed lines in April, the month ended with a total of 17.78 million lines. Moreover, 109,638 fixed numbers were ported, a 4.1% increase from the previous year.
