The Greek Competition Commission has joined the CompEUte initiative, a project funded by the European Union designed to enhance the legal knowledge and skills of administrative and political judges in Greece regarding competition law in the digital marketplace.
Implemented in Greece by the Center for European Constitutional Law – Tsatsos Foundation, the project also receives support from the National School of Judges.
CompEUte includes a series of actions such as analyzing the educational needs of judges concerning EU competition law, developing an innovative training program to inform judges about key principles and rules of competition law, and fostering interdisciplinary skills along with familiarity with essential economic principles and technical terminology necessary for understanding the competition law framework in the digital age.
The project will conduct tiered training sessions based on the judges' familiarity with the subject matter, create asynchronous digital training programs for future use by judicial officials in collaboration with the National School of Judges, and organize visits to the Competition Commission and the European Court of Justice. Additionally, an international conference will be held in Athens to promote pan-European cooperation, networking, and cross-border dialogue on competition issues in the digital market.
Launched in November 2024, the project is set to run until April 2026.
