The 2024 Data Act Cloud Conference, organized by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM), aims to discuss the opportunities arising from the Data Act for companies in the cloud sector. The Data Act is a European regulation designed to promote access to and the use of data, fostering a fair data market and facilitating easier switching between cloud providers to enhance competition.

This initiative is expected to drive growth in the data economy and create new prospects for businesses of all sizes, which will be a focal point of discussion at the Cloud Conference.

During the conference, businesses active in the cloud sector can interact with ACM, ask questions, and share their experiences regarding the implementation of the Data Act and the challenges and opportunities it presents.

The event will feature a keynote speech by DG CNCT on the Data Act's implementation and the European Commission's actions and future plans related to cloud computing. Panel discussions will cover topics such as multi-cloud usage, portability, and switching between cloud services.

The 2024 Data Act Cloud Conference will take place on November 12 at 1 pm at ACM's offices in The Hague. The official language of the conference is English, and registration for cloud sector businesses is open until November 7.
