The CCPC has cleared Kilsaran Concrete Unlimited Company's purchase of certain assets from Kilmurray Precast Concrete Limited, following a thorough investigation to ensure it would not significantly reduce competition in the market.
Kilsaran is involved in manufacturing and supplying various building materials, while Kilmurray owns a sand and gravel pit and processing plant in Co Offaly, among other assets that are part of the deal.
The CCPC's detailed examination focused on assessing the impact of the acquisition on competition, particularly in the supply of sand and gravel. After finding no substantial lessening of competition, the CCPC approved the transaction.
Following the approval, the CCPC will release a comprehensive determination on its website within 60 working days, offering the parties the chance to request the removal of any confidential information.
As the statutory body overseeing competition, consumer protection, and product safety laws, the CCPC also plays a role in digital and data regulation.
