The committee focuses on enhancing competition as a fundamental principle in modern economies and improving competition law enforcement effectiveness.

Established in 1961, the OECD Competition Committee aims to protect and promote competition in economies, encourage competition-friendly economic reforms, strengthen synergies between competition policy and other OECD areas, and promote dialogue and cooperation among member countries' competition authorities.
