Rigó Csaba Balázs, the President of the Hungarian Competition Authority, highlighted Hungary's dedication to promoting connectivity and mutual knowledge sharing at the Balkan Competition Platform conference in Istanbul. The event aimed to strengthen competition policy cooperation among participating countries in the region.
The Hungarian Competition Authority has been actively involved in promoting competition law knowledge sharing in the Balkan region for nearly two decades. The first Balkan Competition Platform event, organized by the Turkish Competition Authority, brought together competition authorities from various countries to enhance professional collaboration and knowledge exchange.
The Hungarian Competition Authority maintains a strong partnership with competition authorities in the Balkan countries and Turkic states. Through initiatives like becoming an observer at the Turkic Council's competition council and signing bilateral cooperation agreements with the Turkish Competition Authority, Hungary aims to support competition policy development in the region.
As part of its efforts to promote competition and economic development, the Hungarian Competition Authority collaborates with the OECD to operate the Regional Competition Center in Budapest. This center provides support for competition policy development and the work of competition authorities in Central, Eastern, and Southeastern European countries.
