Ticketmaster has committed to allowing consumers to resell their mobile tickets through platforms other than Ticketmaster, ensuring they have the freedom to choose the resale platform that best suits their needs. This commitment follows an investigation by the Netherlands Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) into possible impediments for consumers when reselling their mobile Ticketmaster tickets through a different platform.

ACM's investigation focused on concerns about the restrictions placed on the transfer of mobile Ticketmaster tickets, which could potentially limit competition in the ticket resale market. Ticketmaster's strict conditions required tickets to be transferred within its digital environment to prevent fraud risks, raising concerns about disadvantages for other resale platforms.

To address ACM's concerns, Ticketmaster made commitments to remove identified obstacles for resales on other platforms. Consumers are now allowed to transfer their mobile Ticketmaster tickets through different resale platforms, not limited to Ticketmaster's platform. Ticketmaster will also inform consumers and other platforms about the 'transfer functionality' to facilitate ticket transfers within Ticketmaster's system.

ACM will monitor Ticketmaster's compliance with these commitments by reviewing reports from other platforms and consumers. The draft commitment decision will be open for public consultation from 19 June 2024 to 2 August 2024, allowing interested parties to submit opinions before the final decision is issued.
