The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) is organizing the 50th European Competition Day in Budapest on October 22 as part of the Hungarian EU presidency. The event will gather top experts in European competition policy to discuss current challenges, with key topics including the relationship between sustainability and competition law, experiences with the Digital Markets Act (DMA), and the future opportunities and risks of artificial intelligence.
The European Competition Day, held biannually since 2000, is a major professional event in European competition policy organized by the competition authority of the country holding the presidency of the EU Council. Esteemed experts in competition law will present at the Budapest conference, including Natalie Harsdorf, President of the Austrian Competition Authority, and Benoît Cœuré, President of the French Competition Authority.
The 50th European Competition Day will focus on sustainability's link to competition policy, the implementation of the DMA concerning digital markets, and the opportunities and competition law risks associated with artificial intelligence. The GVH will also present the results of its market analysis on artificial intelligence during the conference.
