The Antimonopoly Office of the Slovak Republic (AMO) imposed a fine of over EUR 60,000 on a hosting and domain services company for failing to submit essential information during a cartel investigation.
During an unannounced inspection related to a potential cartel involving hazardous waste management in hospitals, AMO found that the company had deleted around 500,000 emails, crucial for the investigation. Despite requests from AMO, the company refused to provide this key information.
As the withheld information was vital for the investigation to proceed, AMO levied a fine at the upper limit allowed by law. The decision is pending appeal by the company.
