Economists from the Austrian Federal Competition Authority have been appointed to advisory boards for national economic and trade statistics, bringing valuable expertise to the statistical decision-making process.

Mathias Brunner, Loulou Kenens, and Johannes Lukas, all economists at the Austrian Federal Competition Authority (BWB), have been appointed to advisory boards for economic and trade statistics in Austria. Mathias Brunner, with experience in both economics and academia, now serves as deputy head of the department.

Loulou Kenens, who joined BWB in 2023, gained early experience in economic analysis and industry investigations through an internship at BWB before completing her Master's in Economics.

Johannes Lukas, an economist and coordinator at BWB, previously worked as a university assistant and holds a Master's in Economics. The General Director of BWB, Natalie Harsdorf, expressed confidence in the valuable contributions these economists will make to the advisory boards.

The advisory boards of the Statistical Austria provide guidance on national statistics to government ministries and statistical bodies. They consist of representatives from relevant sectors and experts from various fields, including practitioners. The composition of the advisory boards can be found on the Statistical Austria website.
