A seminar series focusing on cartel law, procurement, and corruption prevention is being launched by the Federal Competition Authority and the Federal Office for Corruption Prevention and Anti-Corruption (BAK). The initiative targets decision-makers in municipalities to enhance their knowledge and awareness in these areas.

The seminars cover fundamental aspects of cartel law, legal frameworks for public procurement, sensitivity to various forms of corruption, and the development of a preventive mindset related to cartel law, procurement, and corruption prevention. Experts from the BWB and BAK provide practical insights into current issues and legal updates, offering guidance on typical procurement procedures at the municipal level.

A cooperation agreement signed between the BWB and BAK in July 2024 emphasizes the joint efforts to combat corruption, cartels, and collusion in procurement, as well as to strengthen collaborative awareness-raising and prevention activities.
