The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) has issued a notice regarding its operating hours for merger notifications during the Christmas season. This announcement is crucial for parties planning to submit merger notifications during this time.

According to the CCPC, the office will be open on December 23, 24, 27, 30, and 31 from 9 am to 3 pm. However, the office will be closed on December 25 and 26, as well as January 1.

It is important to note that for the purposes of the Competition Act 2002 (as amended), if the notification and all supporting documents are not fully received by the daily deadline of 3 pm, the CCPC will consider the date of receipt to be the next working day. This could impact the timeline for merger reviews.

The CCPC also extends warm wishes for a happy and peaceful Christmas and a prosperous New Year in 2025.
