The Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH) is conducting accelerated sector inquiries into three public procurement markets to examine the reasons behind single bid procedures, in line with commitments to the European Commission and to promote efficient use of public funds.

One of the key focuses of the GVH is to address issues related to public procurement processes, aiming to uncover and prevent bid rigging and ensure clean use of public funds, with single bid procedures posing a significant concern.

The GVH's first investigation targets the market for medical imaging diagnostic equipment, where single bid procedures have been notably high in recent years, potentially impacting competition and pricing.
