The Competition Council (KP) and the Procurement Monitoring Bureau (IUB) are inviting procurement organizers from state institutions and capital companies to participate in a webinar titled 'Public Procurement: What to Consider for Organizers?' scheduled for January 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM on the MS Teams platform.
During the seminar, KP and IUB will clarify the obligations under the Public Procurement Law (PIL) regarding the exclusion of candidates based on potential competition law violations. The first part of the seminar will feature Monta Drebeiniece, Director of the Legal Act Application Department at IUB, who will address frequently asked questions related to the rules for candidate and applicant exclusions and emphasize the correct understanding of PIL regulations.
The second part will be led by Ieva Šmite, Director of the Prohibited Agreements Department at KP, who will discuss significant issues regarding the exclusion of candidates from procurements due to potential competition law violations. She will also review the current activity of procurers and the agency's practice when procurers seek opinions from KP upon noticing clear indications of coordinated actions among candidates.
The webinar is free of charge and will take place online on January 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Registration is required to attend the webinar and is open until January 9, 2025. Interested participants can register through the provided link.
