The President of UOKiK, Tomasz Chróstny, has imposed fines totaling nearly PLN 8 million on Volkswagen Poznań and Solaris Bus & Coach for creating payment delays. In addition, UOKiK has initiated 30 proceedings against companies that may not be paying their suppliers on time. Payment delays particularly affect small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in sectors such as automotive, cosmetics, electromechanical, food processing, and packaging production. The fines imposed by UOKiK are based on new regulations that allow for higher penalties and take into account mitigating and aggravating circumstances. UOKiK has also issued over 150 soft interventions to companies regarding their payment discipline. The UOKiK website provides information on payment delays and how to report non-compliant businesses.
