The Latvian Competition Council actively participated in the OECD Competition Week events, presenting its achievements and priorities for 2023-2024, as well as sharing Latvia's experience in regulating professional oversight.


This week, the Latvian Competition Council representatives took part in the OECD Competition Week events, presenting their accomplishments for 2023-2024 and priorities for the upcoming years. They also shared insights on Latvia's experience in overseeing regulated professions. Additionally, a Council member participated in the OECD Competition Committee Office meetings.

During the Competition Week, discussions were held with OECD experts and competition authorities from other countries on potential new international projects, such as market research initiatives, capacity-building efforts, and public awareness campaigns. The event also facilitated dialogue with representatives from the Lithuanian competition authority to discuss regional issues.

Moreover, meetings were held with the Norwegian Ambassador to the OECD and UNESCO, as well as with the Latvian Ambassador to OECD and UNESCO, to discuss collaboration on competition law matters. The OECD, founded in 1961, serves as a platform for 38 developed countries to address various sector-specific issues and promote reforms to enhance living standards, socio-economic conditions, and economic competitiveness.
