The CNMC in Spain has initiated a public consultation to examine competition in cloud services, which play a vital role in digital transformation by enabling remote data processing, storage, and management.

The consultation, open until June 21, is part of a study aimed at identifying factors that could impact efficient and competitive operations in the sector. Recommendations will be formulated to promote an environment that encourages competitive pricing, quality, and innovation.

The CNMC's mandate includes promoting effective competition in markets, conducting research on competition matters, and issuing reports on economic sectors with proposals for liberalization, deregulation, or regulatory changes.
