The Croatian Competition Agency (CCA) has initiated an infringement proceeding under the Act on prohibition of unfair trading practices in the business-to-business food supply chain (UTPs Act) against Elizabeta promet d.o.o., a buyer of agri and food products. The focus is on determining if the buyer abused its strong bargaining power to impose unfair trading practices on its suppliers.

The CCA's decision to open the proceeding was prompted by a complaint alleging violations of the UTPs Act by Elizabeta promet. However, the initiation of the administrative procedure does not automatically imply that unfair trading practices have occurred.

The CCA will delve into the specifics of the business transactions between Elizabeta promet and its suppliers to assess the situation thoroughly. The agency will base its final decision on concrete evidence and relevant facts, considering the indications that led to the opening of the investigation.
