The Belgian Competition Authority (BCA) has given the green light to EQT's acquisition of Constellation Cold Logistics. The acquisition was notified on 17 September 2024, with a request for a simplified procedure.

Constellation Cold Logistics operates 26 cold storage facilities in various European countries, including Belgium, France, Ireland, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. In Belgium alone, the company has 7 cold storage facilities.

EQT, through its subsidiary Frio Bidco Ltd, is the acquirer. Frio Bidco Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of EQT Infrastructure VI Investments S.à.r.l., which is ultimately owned and controlled by EQT AB (publ - 'EQT'). EQT is a Swedish private equity fund with portfolio companies in sectors like technology, services, and healthcare.

The BCA's decision on 27 September 2024 concluded that the conditions for the simplified procedure were met, and there were no objections to the notified concentration.
