The e-commerce sector in Spain has seen significant growth in Q2 2023, with a 12.7% increase in revenue compared to the previous year. The travel and fashion sectors were the top performers in terms of revenue. The number of transactions also increased by 14.1%, with the gambling and betting industry leading in terms of sales. The report also highlights the geographical segmentation of e-commerce, with 44.5% of revenue coming from domestic purchases and 55.5% from purchases made in Spain but originating from abroad. The net balance of trade shows a deficit of €8.526 billion, with the majority of purchases from Spain to abroad being made within the European Union. The report also reveals that the tourism-related sectors account for 63.1% of purchases from abroad to Spain. Within Spain, the public administration, taxes, and social security sector generated the highest revenue.
