CCA Investigates Naturala for Unfair Trading Practices in Food Supply Chain

05.08.2024 | 🇭🇷 Croatian competition authority

The Croatian Competition Agency (CCA) has initiated an investigation into Naturala d.o.o. for potentially using unfair trading practices with its suppliers of agricultural and food products.

The Croatian Competition Agency (CCA) has launched an infringement proceeding under the Act on prohibition of unfair trading practices in the business-to-business food supply chain against Naturala d.o.o. to determine if the buyer abused its strong bargaining power to impose unfair practices on its suppliers.

The CCA's investigation was prompted by indications in a written submission alleging that Naturala may have violated the UTPs Act. The CCA clarified that the initiation of the administrative procedure does not automatically imply that unfair trading practices have occurred. The agency will thoroughly examine the business dealings between Naturala and its suppliers before reaching a decision based on concrete evidence.

Due to confidentiality obligations, the CCA refrains from commenting on ongoing cases. The final decision regarding the investigation will be made public on the CCA's website once concluded.
