European Commission Calls on Food Suppliers to Participate in Survey on Unfair Trading Practices

03.10.2024 | šŸ‡±šŸ‡» Latvian competition authority

The European Commission, supported by the Competition Council, urges food suppliers to take part in an annual survey on unfair trading practices in the agricultural and food supply chain.

The European Commission, in collaboration with the Competition Council, is conducting a survey to assess the effectiveness of measures taken by member states in implementing Directive (EU) 2019/633 on unfair trading practices in the agricultural and food supply chain.

The Directive aims to prohibit unfair trading practices throughout the agricultural and food supply chain, as well as the abuse of purchasing power by non-food retailers against suppliers.

The survey, available in Latvian, is designed to gather anonymous responses which will be used to compile results published on the European Commission's website. Participation in the survey takes approximately 15 minutes and is open until December 17, 2024.

The survey is organized by the European Commission's Directorate-General for Agriculture and Rural Development, and an anonymized summary of the survey results can be accessed online.
