10.07.2024 | 🇬🇷 Greek competition authority
The Competition Authority in Greece conducted a surprise on-site inspection as part of a self-initiated investigation into possible bid rigging in public tenders for urban waste management projects in Crete. This action was taken under the provisions of Greek law and EU competition rules.
Such inspections are carried out in companies to gather information on anti-competitive practices in the relevant markets, without prejudging the involvement of companies in anti-competitive behavior or the outcome of the investigation.
The Competition Authority is responsible for enforcing competition rules based on Greek legislation and EU Treaty articles, prohibiting agreements that restrict competition and abusive behavior by dominant companies.
